Al D’Andrea is a stage director, teacher, actor, and writer. He has directed countless productions, workshops and readings of original and classic theatre works in New York, Los Angeles, around the country, and in the U.K. He is the former Artistic Director of the Third Step Theatre Company, a collective of New York theatre artists devoted to new play development and production during the 1980s and 1990s. After 15 years in New York, Al spent the next 16 years in Los Angeles acting in film, television and theatre, as well as directing and teaching for the theatre. Al currently resides in Portland, Maine (with his wife, the playwright Margit Ahlin), where he continues his work developing new plays and musicals, directing for the theatre, and teaching workshops and classes for actors and directors.
